2011 Awards Banquet Recap

The 2011 Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame Awards Banquet was another huge success.  The SPONSORS, entire Board of Directors, Board Advisors and VOLUNTEERS worked very hard to make this event possible. This event was held at the Dowtown Holiday Inn, Everett, Washington and  we filled the room with over 400 people, including 25 members of the Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame.  There were 25 car clubs & special groups from all around Washington State in attendance.  We were also honored to have Duane Cassady of the Portland Roadster Show and Jerome Drazkowski of Goodguys in attendance as well.

The art display was fantastic, and again, thank you to all who donated the artwork.

Once again, we recognized two young rodders, Christopher "Sig" Schott and Lindsay Butler- Congratulations to both of you.

We raised $7000.00 for  Life Enrichment Optionsand presented the donation to Mary Cline-Stively, Board of Directors President.

In 2010 The Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame Chariman, Steve Bender announced that beginning in 2011, we would be awarding a scholarship or two.  Kaleb Houfburg and Bao Truong both graduating this year from Lake Washington Technical College each received $2000.00.  Kaleb received a $2000.00 scholarship from Garage Plus in Puyallup and Bao received $2000.00 from the Washington State Hot Rod Hall of Fame scholarship sponsors.  Both young men also received a one year family membership to the LeMay Museum from the LeMay Museum.

I have belonged to many clubs and associations, and will honestly say, the Car Community is the most giving of any of them.  I'm very proud to be in the company of all of YOU.  Thank you for your donations; money to charities, your time, your knowledge and your extreme kindness and willingness to help anyone you can.
